OLYMPIC GAME FARM

We visited the Olympic Game Farm today, and it sure was fun! The animals really enjoyed the bread that we fed them. It's very important to keep the vehicle moving with all those antlers in close proximity to your vehicle. We had no damage to our vehicle. Mason enjoyed the Llamas that stuck their heads inside the vehicle for bread. It was kind of weird with a herd of giant Elk trying the same thing as the Llamas. We used three loaves of bread today, most of it went to the Kodiak Grizzly Bears.

New Dungeness Light Station

We decided to complete a 11 mile round trip hike to the New Dungeness Light Station located on the Dungeness Spit. It was a great "day hike" for us, especially Mason who fell asleep in his pack for about 45 minutes on the trip to the lighthouse. We saw many different types of birds on the Spit, especially some Bald Eagles.

My Guys

Keith came home from being out on the water on Saturday- it's so nice to have him home for a few days! Both of my guys were so tuckered out after their busy days that they spent a few hours napping together.

Beach Bum

Mason, Sport and I took another walk to the shore on Saturday. Though the morning started out looking like it was going to pour down rain, we ended up having pretty nice weather. Mason tried out his new rain coat and boots and discovered that though boots keep your feet dry, they are hard to bend down in. He ended up doing a few face plants in the sand.

When we were getting ready to leave some of the moms and kids we know from Monday playgroup and Live Y'ers showed up, so we stayed longer. Mason loved all the kids running around on the beach! He had fun trying to destroy sandcastles, and tried to taste the sand more than once. It's so nice that we live so close to the beach!

The Beach

Keith was finally home for a day, so we took a walk down to the water. Mason got to play on the big toy, dig in the sand, put his feet in the water, and chase the seagulls. It was a beautiful, spring-like day. And we all had a ton of fun.

Look!

Mason has figured out that by standing on the basket of books he has out in the living room, he can see out the window. He gets so happy when he sees Sport walk by.

New Slicker and Boots

Grannie and Grandpa D gave Mason these super cute boots and raincoat for his birthday. He always pulls out his boots and tries to put them on!

Biker Boy

Mason was being a little too quiet the other night, so I went in his room to check on him. He had figured out how to ride the little Radio Flyer bike that my brother had given him a while ago. He was so proud of himself. He toppled over a couple times, but just got right back on again.

Sunday's Birthday Party

Thank you to everyone for helping to make Mason's first birthday very special. He had a ton of fun opening his gifts and enjoying his cake. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. Thank you!

The Cakes from Sunday's Party

Here are the cakes I made for Sunday's dinosaur themed 1st Birthday Party.

Friday's Birthday Party

Last Friday we had some people from Keith's boat over to celebrate Mason's 1st birthday. Mason had so much fun playing with the kids, eating his cake and opening presents! He was a pretty neat cake eater and got very little on his face and in his hair. Sonya just turned one in January and was very good at opening gifts.
