Lately Dexter has taken to sleeping with Mason. It's really cute to see them snuggle together.

Day Hike and Picnic

Last Sunday we took a day hike to Marymere Falls. The day was beautiful, as was the waterfall. Mason loves going in his backpack and seeing all the sights. We took a side trail and had lunch down by a creek. Afterward, Mason and Keith amused themselves by playing on some logs and throwing rocks in the water. Mason even found a prehistoric cell phone!

Camping

We took Mason on his first camping trip this last weekend. Mason and I had given Keith a new tent for Father's Day, so we took it out to Salt Creek camp ground for a test run. Mason loved taking Daddy by the hand and leading him down the trail to see the water.

This area is pretty famous for its tidepools, so we walked down early Sunday morning to check out the sea creatures. There were tons of little crabs that at first scared Mason, but by the time we left he liked watching and touching them. We forgot to bring the camera down with us, so no pics.

The weather was beautiful and I'm certain that we'll be making a few more trips out there to camp this summer.

Bathing Beauties

We couldn't have picked a better playmate for Mason than Dexter. Mason loves to share bathtime with his kitty, and Dex doesn't mmind as long as Mason doesn't make the bath into a wave pool.

Uncle Cris and Grannie Visit

We're a little late with our postings, but here are some pics from when my mom and brother came out to visit. We took them to Hurricane Ridge (of course-- it's Keith's favorite place) and to the Olympic Game Farm. Thanks for coming out to visit guys! We hope to see you soon!!

Beautiful Day at the Beach

We took a walk down to the beach today since it was so beautiful out. Mason loved playing in the sand and water. It was field trip day for all the local day care centers so there were tons of kids for him to play with. Mason has learned how to do barrel rolls at gymnastics, so the sand was a perfect place for him to practice (his idea, not mine). He was exhausted and slept the whole way home.

A Boy and His Kitten

Welcome Dexter!

We adopted an 8-week old kitten on Wednesday from a local vet. Keith named him Dexter (after the TV show) which works out well since the kitten has an extra toe on each front paw (better dexterity).

Mason loves the kitty. He will call out "Kitty, Kitty" and then cluck his tongue and motion for Dexter to follow him. They both have an endless supply of energy, so make great playmates for each other.

Visit to the Farm

We visited Nicci's cousin's farm in Eastern Wenatchee, and Mason got to see some of their animals. He enjoyed sitting on a horse, and holding the little rabbit. Hope to see you guys this summer for a trip to the Zoo.

Wenatchee Trip

We loaded up the vehicle and headed east to Wenatchee, WA to visit with family, and to see the Apple Blossom parade. Mason liked seeing all the great floats, marching bands, cars, and horses in the parade. The weather was warm and enjoyable east of the mountains, a little different from Port Angeles, WA.
